Please promote the Book Club to your families. Each week, from June 7 through August 2, the First Partner or a special guest will read a story, hosted on the Governor's YouTube page (links below). The first reading, Grandad's Camper, will go live at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 7. Storytimes are fun, family activities for preschoolers (ages 3-5), but all are welcome to join. The First Partner’s Summer Book Club is a 10-week initiative to promote children’s literacy and participation in summer reading programs hosted by local libraries throughout the state. The list includes 10 books for pre-K, 8 books for early elementary school, and 5 books for late elementary school readers. 2. Storytime: The First Partner will record storytimes featuring nine books from her pre-K list. Beanstack Badge: Kids that read a book or watch one of the First Partner’s storytimes will earn a virtual summer book club Beanstack “badge” developed by the Office of the First Partner (OFP) as part of local public libraries’ summer reading programs. This will be one of the many badges kids can collect. 4. Bookmark: The OFP has created downloadable, Summer Book Club branded bookmarks.
