Hey gamers!

I hope you are all doing well.  My goal is to have a meetup for this Interest Group every month or so.  I've been loving meeting new librarian-gamers (you all are the coolest) and it's been good for my health, ha!

We had a great time learning how to play D&D last month (thanks Steven!!)!  Did you miss it?  Steven will be running another D&D game during CLA! (P.S. Steven Torres-Roman is the BEST D&D teacher, also he literally wrote the book on playing role-playing games in the Library- Dragons in the Stackshttps://www.amazon.com/Dragons-Stacks-Librarians-Role-Playing-Professional/dp/1610692616)

NEW MEETUP
This month, we will be having another Interest Group meetup, this time playing Jackbox games.  I hope you can join us!
Here are the details:
Gaming Happy Hour Saturday, April 17, 2021 from 5-7pm on Zoom
Join us to meet some fellow gamer librarians and play Jackbox gameshttps://www.jackboxgames.com/!  No prior experience required. Jackbox games are great to use as Library programming (for all ages).  Learn how to personalize games as well- we’ll play a Librarian themed version of Quiplash during tonight’s Happy Hour!
RSVP to be notified of the next event with the Zoom Link: https://forms.gle/78Jtyuumcbfa5XUn7

CLA
CLA Annual Conference is happening May 11-14.  It's theme is Renaissance: The Library Renewal. Don't forget to sign uphttps://conference.cla-net.org/2021/!  It's entirely virtual this year and at the end of each day, you can play games!  I'll be running open gaming sessions each evening and Steven Torres-Roman will be running a D&D game on Friday night.  We'd love to see you!
FYI: If you plan on playing D&D with us during CLA, there are a few things you want to do ahead of time. 1) Create a free account at Roll20.net and 2) Take a look at the D&D Basic Ruleshttps://media.wizards.com/2018/dnd/downloads/DnD_BasicRules_2018.pdf
In addition, I will have a gaming panel at CLA called "Let the Virtual Games Begin" which will discuss ways to utilize online programs for zoom game nights with your library patrons.

I'd love any feedback on future meetup topics, activities, gaming news, or anything else you want to share! Hope to see you (online) soon!
