Here is a rundown of the Games and Gaming Interest Group sponsored events: *TODAY* Interest Group Zoom Fair 4-5 pm After Hours Gaming: Wednesday, May 12 from 7-9:30 pm After Hours Gaming: Thursday, May 13 from 7-9:30 pm Let the Virtual Games Begin! Recorded Panel (with live Q&A): Friday, May 14 from 1-2 pm After Hours Gaming: Friday, May 14 from 7-9:30 pm After Hours Gaming Description: Take a break after all those awesome panels and relax with your library friends! Play some old favorites or be introduced to a new game or two. Participants will choose live what games they want to play. Games could include: Among Us, Jackbox Games (like Quiplash or Drawful), Bingo, Scattergories, Scavenger Hunts, Pictionary, and more. Feel free to suggest games! A facilitator will be online to moderate games and explain rules or technology if necessary. Not a gamer? Feel free to hang out anyway and cheer everyone on! Let the Virtual Games Begin! Panel Description: Are you wondering how best to move your in-person gaming events online? Or have you tried it but it just isn’t going smoothly? Join Youth Services Librarians from Oceanside Public Library as they detail their experiences hosting Virtual Game Nights for all ages this past year, including their tips and tricks that were learned along the way (sometimes the hard way!). OPL has hosted All Ages Game Nights, Tween/Teen Only Game Nights, and Adults Only Game Nights and each one is presented differently based on the audience and their interests and technology needs. Suggestions for the best games to play and websites to use will be discussed, as well as some of the issues that may arise during your events and how to handle them.
